Activities About BIMA

The Association has arranged special meetings and get together with various officials of the Union Government like Ministers, Secretaries, Officials of Main Producers, Iron & Steel Controller and Joint Plant Committee, whenever occasions permitted. We have also arranged many tours to the various steel plants for the members to gather first hand information about the operation of these plants. The purpose of these meetings and visits was to create constant awareness in the official circles of the problems of the steel trade to seek measures for redressing these grievances.

The Association submitted several memorandums to the Prime Minister, Union Steel Minister, Officials in the Steel Ministry, Iron & Steel Controller and Joint Plant Committee setting forth numerous observations and suggestions to improve the working of the Steel Plants, to bring down the market prices of steel and to introduce better distributions of steel in the country. We were the first to advocate dual pricing policy in the steel.
